Ella, my daughter, and I spent the summer in the hospital for a heart operation for her which went wonderfully well, but ate up almost all of our summer. To beat boredom and anxiety, there's nothing better than knitting and crocheting! I made some slippers for her to wear at the hospital:
As well as two amigurumi dolls from her favourite movie, Frozen.
I also finished a sweater from the Craftsy Tealeaf Sweater knit-a-long. I made it using Malabrigo Worsted in Pollen, the yellow yarn, and Plymouth Gina in colour 011, which is the colour-changing yarn.
I found out too late that Gina colour 011 was discontinued, so I had to make some decisive design choices and only used the colour-changing yarn for the front panels in consequence instead of for the whole back, like I had planned. Otherwise, it's a colourful knit for the end of summer and just in time for the first cool breezes of fall.
